Keelboat Level 2 | Basic Skills
This level 2 course is the next step after completing the basics of keelboating on your Level 1. Level 2 focuses on solidifying the skills you have learned on the level 1 course, in addition to introducing the following maneuvers and skills.
On the keelboat level 2 you will learn:
Reefing – making your sail area smaller to handle harsher with weather conditions.
Learning how to pick up a mooring in a variety of wind and tidal conditions.
Learning how to come alongside a moored boat / pontoon.
Recovering a person fallen overboard.
Anchoring.
Course details
Courses start at 9:30am and end at 5. Food is available at the clubhouse however a packed lunch is recommended as you may be having lunch at sea.
As with all sailing courses are weather dependent. You will be contacted the day before the course at the latest if the weather is unfavourable. Progress will be tracked on the checklick sailing passport.
